Went up to my aunt & uncle's in Scotts Valley (near Santa Cruz) yesterday. It was a strange atmosphere...my uncle's mother passed away on Monday and his sister had come out from Italy...and she took it very hard. My cousin & I watched her "Friends: Season 5" DVDs and we ate lasagna & ham. Did the dishes and ate dessert (grandma made pies...mmmmmmm...!!!!) Got to chat with my uncle's sister for a little while. She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO kick ass!!! She used to protest, dated a guy who took her to SDS meetings, has an FBI record cuz of her protesting and attending meetings, is super liberal and very take-charge. She's so fucking cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christmas Eve John & I went to my paternal g'parents house. ate Portuguese food, chit-chatted and opened presents. Oh, and bashed on my dad's wife...it was great! hahahaha They SO regifted wedding presents and gave them to my g'ma and auntie irene. such bullshit. she's a jackass, i swear.
today...i sit at my desk, sick as a dog (never understood that saying), waiting for 12 to come so i can see what my jury duty fate is *grumble* i hope that they dismiss my group. i really am in no mood to go into the courts and sit around for hours with people that bother me. not to mention that totally kills my plans with BJ for lunch. i'm supposed to take her to Pedros for Christmas (she's been wanting that for about a year now LOL)

portuguese food...lots of meat, fish, salt and oil LOL oh, and loads of bread, wine and 7up
we had marinated and somewhat fried pork, warm salt cod salad (which i refuse to eat), white rice with pepper and olive oil and a crap-load of dessert
i remember reading a book about a little girl who lived in Portugal who lived in a "fishing" village LOL
we had ham, twice baked cheesy potatoes, hawaiian sweet rolls, salad, carrot cake and ice cream
i made eggnog and stuff
it tastes damn good with vanilla rum :)
